The Western Cape is going nowhere slowly this weekend following the exciting Western Province Rugby Day hosted at the Danie Craven Week stadium on Wednesday.
The big "surprise" was Boland Landbou's draw against the highly rated Wynberg, however, maybe not a big surprise taking into account their 40-31 win over Durbanville yesterday and losing to Outeniqua 34-49. Boland Landbou's brilliance was followed quickly by some primary school mistakes. But is still early in 2025.

Paul Roos showed against Stellenberg (20-00) that they are super fit and brilliantly talented and poor Drostdy HTS should be given a proper taste of what the best in South Africa means. Drostdy lost to Paarl Boishaai (19-55) and beat Upington (65-07).
Rondebosch vs Oakdale should be interesting, especially after Rondebosch's 15-15 draw against Paarl Gim. If Oakdale's macro pack can do their thing and last past the halftime break Rondebosh is in for a long day despite their brilliant loosies and backline, however, if Rondebosch reply like Grey College did in the second half, Oakdale could be feeling that the hopes of a brilliant 2025 season might just evolve in an early nightmare.
