The eyes of the schoolboy rugby community will turn to the Eastern Cape as two of the top three 1stXV's travel to measure themselves against the best the Eastern Cape have to offer.
Selborne hosts Grey College which could/will unfortunately result in a comprehensive win by the visitors from Bloemfontein. Selborne only lost twice in their six matches played and unfortunately, losses to Pretoria Boys High (21-26) and Queen's College (21-26) show their lack of top competition. Grey College will be Grey College unless they decide to rest players for the Wildeklawer next week.
The unbeaten Paul Roos travels to Grey High and should remain unbeaten, however, Grey High's final match was a draw against the unbeaten Wynberg (10-10) a week ago away from home. Also in favour of the Gey High 1stXV is that this will be their first match of the season in front of their supporters. Could they achieve the impossible? Especially in 2024, no surprise will be a big surprise, however, .........
Dale College has already lost to the visiting Cambridge in their first match of the season, however, however, after three losses at the start of the season they turned their season with three wins including against Grey High (32-25). Unfortunately, the last match of their seven-match season so far ended in a loss to Queen's College. Cambridge is currently ranked 100th of the Ruggas.co.za 1stXV Ranking and should not. However, it is the Eastern Cape and 2024.
