The Western Cape and Eastern Cape had a slow start to their season with not many games played while Gauteng schools closed a lot fewer games were played than a week ago. Most of the schools had started their travels to the various rugby festivals to take place during the next two weeks. Next week will be an action-packed week that starts Monday already.

Dale College became Marlow's 3rd victim as Marlow is becoming an early favourite in the region. Dale unfortunately does not have a macro pack of forwards that could provide their backline quality ball to run the defence of their opponents to pieces.
Brandwag (Uitenhage) used their massive pack of forwards to dominate Grey High School and pushed the "favourites" until the last minutes of the game. Unfortunately, a loose pass here and there cost Brandwag the game.
In an extremely physical battle, the host Graeme College and Selborne College played to an exciting draw with both teams making early-season mistakes which could have changed the results.
A wonderful rugby day at Graeme College just confirmed that some exciting but brutal games will be played in the Eastern Cape in 2022.
