SA Schools Lock Sign With Lions

Talented lock Lunga Ncube has committed to the Lions in a major boost to the Johannesburg based sides’ youth stocks. Ncube is a product of Glenwood High with a youth rugby pedigree of note having represented the Sharks at Grant Khomo, Academy Week and Craven Week levels as well as the Under 19 and Supersport Challenge series.

2018 was one of the highlights of his career as he went to Craven Week where the Sharks battled it out on the final day against Western Province. His hard work was rewarded when he also made the SA Schools side. The year was ended off on a high when this team faced France in the Aon U18 International Series, thus far the biggest match of his career.

He spent a lot of his 2019 season playing in the Supersport Challenge for the Sharks while also attending the SA Under 20 alignment camps. He seemed to have done all the right things as he also walked away with their Under 19 Player of the Year award.

“I know things are not going to be easy or happen overnight but I’m willing to put in the work to reach my goals. I thought about my future when I decided to make the move to Johannesburg,” Ncube said.
