Our weekly update concentrates on the Castle Lager Springbok Showdown which Bart was more kind in his evaluation of the game.
We ask questions regarding the captaincy of Siya Kolisi and then asked the question regarding "proper" captains in the senior ranks. No quick solution for Springbok rugby but agreed if we need to have a black captain, Elton Jantjies is the only option.
We discussed the props, hookers, locks, loosies, scrumhalves and flyhalves. We are in a happy place regarding the props and hookers. However, the lack of control of the ball during line-outs remain a major proper although Bart felt that the referees had a lot to do with the line-outs.
The shortage of height at the lock will limit the Springboks' options in lineouts at test level. Bart is convinced that the Springbok coaching staff will address this issue before we travel to Australia.
We ask questions regarding Sanele Nohamba's "forced" rise to stardom. I am scared that he will disappear if the pressure on him to perform will increase massively.
Jantjies proved himself as the best flyhalf for the Boks and discuss Damian Willemse lack of performance. Bart is convinced that Damian has too many shortcomings to play at flyhalf and a permanent move to fullback is non-negotiable.
