Week three once again treated the fans to some brilliant matches. Great performance by Wales' captain Jac Morgan, Springbok fullback Damian Willemse and England's five-try hero Henry Arundell, however, the brilliant Wales flyhalf, Gareth Anscombe took the match and Australia by the scruff of the neck and was truly sensational.
1. Gareth Thomas (Wales) - Made a mighty 14 tackles and even won a turnover. That’d be a decent haul for a back-rower.
2. Theo Dan (England) - Capable in the set-piece, he was rewarded with two tries off the lineout maul while he also displayed his handling with the pass assist for Arundell on 30 minutes.
3. Uini Atonio (France) – Carried hard, always requiring at least a couple of defenders to be brought to deck.
4. Cameron Woki (France) - The champion in the air. Nailed each of his kick-off receptions and was Mauvaka’s primary target at the lineouts, grabbing seven in the first half.
5 Franco Mostert (Springboks) - An outstanding display in the line-outs and was responsible for a couple of steals. He also made his presence felt at the breakdowns.
6. Lewis Ludlam (England) – He was his pack’s most effective ball carrier when Chile needed taming. His run down the left tryline in the lead-up to his team’s 35th-minute bonus-clinching try.
7. Jac Morgan (Wales) - A captain’s performance. Left the pitch bloodied, bruised, an absolute colossus.
8. Taulupe Faletau (Wales) - Big carries and meaty returns from the restart. Another impressive show from one of Wales’ greatest of all time.
9. Antoine Dupont (France) - What more could you ask for?
10. Gareth Anscombe (Wales) - A remarkable performance. Perhaps his best in a Welsh shirt. Landed a dropped goal, dictated the tempo and was unnervingly accurate when kicking out of hand or passing down the line. A truly sensational show.
11. Duhan van der Merwe (Scotland) - Scored his 21st international try and a brilliant break, constantly asking questions of the defenders.
12. Bundee Aki (Ireland) - Defended superbly close to Ireland’s try line. Beat several Springbok defenders with power and skill. Must be close to being the best 12 in the world.
13. George North (Wales) - Made 34 metres and each one seemed to matter. Great at the ruck when asked to clean out and held firm in defence. A player in top form.
14. Henry Arundell (England) - He must get top marks here for his five-try display. His first two were walk-ins but the 20-year-old still deserved credit for them as he showed there were no nerves on this occasion unlike before.
15. Damian Willemse (Springboks) - The best backline player in the Bok team by a country mile. He was a constant threat with ball in hand and his footwork was just a joy to watch on attack.
