Rugby Championship – Injury Blow For Argentina Before Mbombela Test

The Argentine Rugby Union confirmed their touring squad to Mbombela to face the Springboks in the final test of the 2024 Rugby Championship.

The experienced loose forward Marcos Kremer, 72 tests, was not included in the touring squad following a knee injury that saw him leave the field against the Springboks in Santiago del Esterowill.

Kremer is the only player in the team that faced the Springboks despite the squad being reduced to twenty-eight players.

The Test at the Mbombela Stadium will decide the winner of the 2024 Castle Lager Rugby Championship after the Boks’ 29-28 defeat in Stantiago del Estero last weekend.

The only permutation that would see Argentina claim the title for the first time, is if the visitors win with a try-scoring bonus point and deny the hosts a point, which would see Los Pumas crowned champions since they would have beaten South Africa twice.
