The Emirates Lions left on a three-week European tour with their squad boosted by the return of flanker Ruan Venter, fullback Quan Horn and centre Henco van Wyk. and the fit-again Kade Wolhuter has been included as flyhalf cover.
"The return of Quan, Kade, Henco and Ruan is great for us. It gives us confidence,” assistant coach Barend Pieterse said on Wednesday."
"All of them have been crucial for us throughout the season and every player that stepped in for them while they were injured was really good."
"It hasn’t been an easy decision to leave guys out for them to come back into the squad. It says a lot about that as well. We are lucky to have that depth at the moment."
Asked if the players coming back from injury will allow the Lions to adapt their approach to the upcoming match Pieterse said: "You always have to modify a little bit. Even back home when we played that last game against the Sharks in Durban, the conditions were a little bit more difficult."
“We will have to modify it a little bit, but we also don’t want to go away from our strengths and what has been working for us. They are predicting a little bit of rain, but we will play the situation on the day."
"Our strength is keeping the ball and I don’t see ourselves changing too much on the day."
