The Reds won against a Brumbies team that did not look the part of log leaders with their loss. The Reds scored the first point and never gave up the lead during the match. A 26-7 win definately sending all the wrong messages to the Rebels for the semi-final next weekend.
The Reds struck after setting up 13 phases to take the lead with 5-0 with 34 minutes left on the clock in the first half. At the end of the first quarter, the Reds will be disappointed with the 8-0 lead they enjoyed.
The Reds continued to dominate proceeding help on by inaccuracies from the Brumbies on defence and attack. A converted try each had the score at the break at 18-07 for the Reds. The Brumbies first try came after the hooter signalled the end of the first half.
The scoreboard was kept idle in the third quarter of the match with both sides who enjoyed moments of brilliance. A very even game at this stage which still could go either way but the Reds lead of 11 points could just prove to be enough.
Tate McDermott's try with four minutes to go sealed the win for the Reds with 26-7 ensuring that the Reds will go into the semi-final next weekend with enough momentum.
