In Kwa-Zulu Natal, most of the action for the week has already taken place at the Trevor Bennison Rugby Day @ DHS. Glenwood took Voortrekker PMB apart winning 56-7. DHS won against 36-3 against Port Natal and will be happy with their performance after their loss on Saturday against Hilton. Hilton again showed that they will be a force in KZN again beating Clifton, 34-5 with relative ease.
The interschool fixture between Maritzburg College and Grey College, unfortunately, is what they call a dead rubber. This event did not take place for a few years because of the big margins of victory Grey College achieved. Unfortunately, nothing changed with Maritzburg College losing 60-13 against a "weak" Grey College side in 2016 with a much bigger margin expected this weekend. Although Maritzburg College is really investing a lot in the resurrection of their rugby one can not help to ask Why? Surely nobody is winning this weekend and I do hope that I am too critical in writing this remark.
Westville will be looking to put their season back on track after their defeat against Michaelhouse 18-24, this past weekend. They could not have picked a better victim than Northwood who is still to taste the sweet taste of victory this season suffering heavy defeats at the hands of DHS 0-82 and Kearsney 3-45.
