The first 20 minutes of the game was a very even affair. Liam Koen converts a penalty for Gim to open the scoring for the game (3-0). Grey replied almost immediately to level the score (3-3). Gim scored after several phases with 10 minutes to go. The momentum is maybe shifting in favour of Gim (10-3).
A great game between two of the heavyweights of South African rugby schools was still balanced on a knife's edge although Gim might just have the upper-hand.

From the kickoff, Gim scored a try after Grey allowed the ball to bounce from Gim's kick-off. Grey hit back almost immediately with their first try to narrow the gap to 8-15. A converted penalty by Grey narrowed the gap further to 11-15.
Gim converts a 50 m penalty with 15 minutes to go (11-18). Grey College scored their second try to narrow the gap two just 2 points (16-18).
Paarl Gim walked off the field as the deserved winner with the decision making by Grey maybe the difference.
