Outeniqua High School will start its season with a rugby day hosted on 18 March 2023 to start its 100-year celebrations. Most of the invited schools will start their 2023 season in George, however, rest assured this will be a day full of action.
Brandwag will be looking to continue its impressive 2022 season against Worcester Gym in the opening match of the festival. The match following the Brandwag battle should be one of the highlights of the day. Boland Landbou will face Marlow Landbou in what will be a brutal battle up front while their exciting backs will look to score from anywhere on the pitch. A lot is expected from Marlow in 2023.
Next up will be Paul Roos against Framesby which will live up to all the expectations. However, thereafter Grey High school will face the newly Premier "A" promoted Stellenberg. Stellenberg is known to be the "giant killers" of SA schoolboy rugby and will want to show in their first game of the season that they can still claim the bis scalps. And also taking into account that this match will be the third of Stellenberg's season they could travel back to Cape Town with big smiles on their coaches' faces.
Unfortunately, the last two matches could "blow up" in the organisers' faces and although Waterkloof and Noordheuwel are definately clawing their way back to being reckoned as Top 10 candidates they are not there yet and Oakdale and Outeniqua should have an "easy" day at the office.
