Olympics 2024 – Springbok Women’s Sevens Claimed 11th Place

 

The Springbok Women's Sevens scored three tries to lead 21-00 against Fiji, however, despite once again conceding three tries during the final stretch they managed to hang on to beat Fiji 21-15 to claim the 11th place at the 2024 Olympics.

Nadine Roos scored two brilliant tries in the first half to secure a 14-00 lead going into the halftime break, whereafter, Zintle Mpupha added a try after three minutes of play in the second half to extend the Springboks lead 21-00.

Fiji started to find some rhythm during the last three minutes of play and scored two tries to reduce the Springboks' lead to eleven points. Fiji added a third try fifty seconds past the allowed time. The Springboks deservedly won 21-15.
