Looking back to a brilliant 2022 Noord/Suid rugby festival, the question remains who was the actual winner at the festival. The answer lies in the definition of "winner", the formula and several biased permutations.
The organisers made it difficult with games between traditionally northern schools while Grey College and Glenwood played matches against northern and southern schools.
We needed Salomon's wisdom to determine east from the south, however, he is not on speed dial, so that decision rested with a biased northern "person".
The battle between the 1stXV's was a draw with both sides winning nine matches with the brilliant draw between Garsfontein and Paarl Boishaai.
"Strangely" the battle between the 2ndXV's was easily won by the South, they won eleven matches against the seven of the North. Is that an indication of schoolboys up north playing less rugby creating a "depth" problem or is the scouting at the top-level killing participation up North?
