Wandisile Similane
A valuable player is a player that can create an opportunity to score or put his team on the front foot when very few can. Wandisile Simelane is one of those players. He played at ooutside-centre for Jeppe High School for Boys’ 1st XV for two years. He was selected for the SA School’s team both years.
Wandi is a huge attacking threat for any opposition team. He has a very sharp step that draws the defence on him to put others in space or to find himself in space. He also has enough pace to get away from the defence, once he was in space. Wandi has a long and accurate boot. His kicking for poles success rate, is above 80% and when he kicked to clear the line he always made many metres.
Wandi’s ability to read the game is another aspect of his game that sets him apart from other players. He has a good feel for when to attack and when to kick into space.
All of these aspects made Wandi a very valuable player.
