New Zealand Crowned Champions Of HSBC Sydney Sevens

New Zealand was crowned champions of the 2023 HSBC Sydney Sevens after a 36-00 win against the Blitzboks. New Zealand's physicality forced the Blitzboks to make several mistakes on the defence which resulted in New Zealand scoring 6 unanswered tries.

New Zealand used their size and feet to beat the Blitzboks' defence to score the first try of the match after just two minutes of play. New Zealand added a second try dominating the Blitzboks with their size and speed to force the Blitzboks into mistakes on the defence. The Blitzboks can at this stage not contain New Zealand to score a third try to lead 17-00 at the halftime break.

A strong New Zealand scrum resulted in a turnover for New Zealand who sealed their win with a 4th try. The Blitzboks had no answer to New Zealand's speed and physicality on the attack and leaked 6 tries to lose 38-00.
