The Munster squad are preparing at the HPC ahead of Saturday’s United Rugby Championship round eight clash against a high-flying Emirates Lions, with four wins from five in the competition on Saturday at Thomond Park at 21:35 (SA Time).
Munster A are also in action this week as they host Ulster A at New Ormond Park on Friday in the Interprovincial Championship with a 15:00 kick-off. Tom Ahern was a try-scorer for Munster A last Friday as they were beaten 22-7 away to Leinster in their competition opener.
On the international front, Craig Casey scored his first try for Ireland against Fiji on Saturday with Tadhg Beirne and Conor Murray also featuring.
Alex Kendellen has returned to the Munster squad having been in Ireland camp as a training panellist for the Autumn Nations Series.
Short-term signings Dian Bleuler and Conor Bartley are training with the squad having joined the province earlier this month.
On the injury front, Alex Nankivell (hip) has returned to full training and is available for selection. Shane Daly (leg), Liam Coombes (leg) and Thaakir Abrahams (thigh) all returned to full training this week with their respective availability to be confirmed later this week.
Oli Jager (neck) is increasing his training load but is unavailable this weekend.
Jean Kleyn will go for a scan on the neck injury that ruled him out for the Springboks at the weekend and is not available this week.
Seán O’Brien is unavailable due to a leg injury.
Diarmuid Kilgallen is unavailable after undergoing surgery on a wrist injury.
Jeremy Loughman has undergone surgery on his hip and will undergo a period of rehabilitation.
