The Vodacom Bulls were in a bad mood and scored 6 tries in their 40-03 over Windhoek Draught Griquas in their Round 5 fixture on Friday at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
The Vodacom Bulls were in complete control from the opening seconds and although the Windhoek Draught Griquas had their opportunities it was the Vodacom Bulls who made their supporters smile again.
The Vodacom Bulls started like a house on fire and scored the first try after just 6 minutes of play to which the Windhoek Draught Griquas replied with a converted penalty 6 minutes later.
The Vodacom Bulls continued the dominance on the back of their powerful pack of forwards to score their second try after 18 minutes of play to lead 12-03.
The continued pressure by the Vodacom Bulls led to Stephan Smit (Windhoek Draught Griquas) being shown a yellow card. Cyle Brink bulldozed his way over the tryline after a quick tap following the penalty and yellow card to score the third try for the Vodacom Bulls.
With 5 minutes to go in the first half, Kurt-Lee Arendse picked up a spilt ball from the Windhoek Draught Griquas to send Embrose Papier on his way for an 80-meter run to score the Vodacom Bulls 4th and bonus point try.
The first half ended on the Vodacom Bulls tryline, however, a Vodacom Bulls side which was in complete control led 26-03 with 40 minutes to play.
Arendse magic opened up the field for David Kriel to go over in the corner whereafter Gerhard Steenekamp bulldozed his way over the Windhoek Draught Griquas tryline minutes later. With 20 minutes left to play the Vodacom Bulls led 40-03. The last 20 minutes was scoreless.
