Middelburg HTS started a process to cancel bursaries to talented kids with immediate effect. In a letter dated 20 April 2020 Middelburg HTS claims that the financial crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic is to blame for their decision. The schools were instructed by the minister of basic education to reevaluate the budgets to guarantee the school's survival during this crisis. The letter was sent to us and we know who the boy is who's bursary was cancelled with effect from 01 June 2020.
