Log leaders and unbeaten Sigma Lions u/20 will host DHL Western Province in Round 5 of the SARU u/20 Championship today @ 14h00 in Johannesburg. Although DHL Western Province is currently 4th on the log a bonus-point win could see them move to the top of the competition log.
The Sigma Lions u/20 are unbeaten and were only really tested by the Vodacom Bulls in Round 1 of the competition. They come off another great win over the Toyota Free Staters (46-19) in Bloemfontein in Round 4.
Only two changes were made at the back where Henco v Wyk moves to the inside centre to make way for Ngia Selenbe at the outside centre. Upfront Sasko Ndlovu is back on the side of the scrum, replacing Jarrod Cairns who moves to lock. Sibusisi Shonge is the other change upfront. Shonge replaces Kabous Bezuidenhout at tighthead who moves back to the bench.
There is just one change to the DHL Western Province U20 starting line-up for their encounter with the Lions U20 at Emirates Airline Park on Friday. Rhys Fulford starts at lock in the only change to the team that beat Vodacom Bulls U20 at Newlands a fortnight ago.
DHL Western Province U20 Head Coach Jerome Parwater said that his team is determined to continue their winning momentum.
“We know it will be a tough outing against the table-topping Lions U20 side at midday in Johannesburg, but we are up for the challenge.
“We want to make it three consecutive wins and take some real momentum into the second half of the season, but in order to do that we will have to be accurate in all areas of our game,” he said.
