The Rebels defeated the Emirates Lions 37-17 in their second match on tour. The Lions struggled to use the opportunities that came their way while the Rebels again showed the form that gave them the "surprise" win against the Highlanders last weekend.
The Rebels lead the Lions 15-10 at the halftime break. The Rebels made a strong start, however, yellow cards during the final ten minutes undermined the Rebels dominance and let the Lions back in the game.
The Emirates Lions had the bulk of the territory and the possession in the second half but could not convert that in points. The Rebels made the most of the opportunities presented while the Lions struggled to combine for any consistency of possession and effective attack.
The Lions play the Blues next Saturday (05:25 SA Time) at the Eden Park Stadium, Auckland.
