In our weekly "Let's Talk - International news for the week ending 21/02/2021" we start at the B&I Lions and end with "entertaining" rugby and Teazers

Bart sees nothing wrong accepting the offer of ten million British Pounds from Rugby Australia. I am not amused and still says that if not played in South Africa cancel or postpone it. The Springboks are a power on the rugby field, however, our administrators are not. The B&I Lions will not find another South Africa anywhere in the world, let them decide if one tour with a loss is enough to end the relationship.

Bart and I do not have to always agree and today is one of those days.

We agree that the quality of rugby in Europe is not rugby as we know it. We agree that club rugby in Europe is brain dead.

Marcell Coetzee's injury must be worrying to the Bulls. He is injury prone and again raise the question of contracting players from outside of South Africa.

Red cards again are playing a big role in determining the winners. I suggest that the players need to be penalised financially otherwise we will not stop red card offences. A minimum unpaid suspension for the offending players should also be mandatory.

The drive to make the game more entertaining should be stopped immediately. If a person is looking for "entertainment" send him to Teazers. Rugby should be a physical contest between players of all sizes. That is the basis of rugby's popularity.

And then we turn to the Varsity Cup's entertainment off the field which we both agree is crap.
