South Africa's World Cup-winning captain, Siya Kolisi hopes to lead the TOP 14 club to their first Investec Champions Cup.
Double World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi is looking to mark his first season at Racing 92 with more silverware by helping the French club win the Investec Champions Cup for the first time – in addition to hunting for TOP 14 success.
Runners-up three times in EPCR’s elite competition, the South Africa flanker has already been made aware of the Parisian team’s keenness to break that duck.
“I know that the club want to win the Champions Cup, but winning the French Championship also has a special flavour and it will be a form of accomplishment for me,” said the 32-year-old, who has joined Racing from DHL Stormers.
“The Champions Cup is a competition that I played last year, where there are the best players on the planet. But the TOP 14 is quite a competition too.”
Kolisi helped Stormers reach the quarter-finals of the Heineken Champions Cup last season on their tournament debut and is set to make his maiden Investec Champions Cup appearance for Racing against Harlequins at Paris La Défense Arena on December 10.
