John Dobson joked he "couldn't see the field" after the DHL Stormers were held to a 16-16 draw by the Ospreys in relentless Swansea rain. The weather was a factor across the United Rugby Championship this weekend.
The DHL Stormers ensured that they remained unbeaten in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship on Friday night in their second away game of the competition in Swansea in their round-five clash. They encountered heavy downpours in Swansea, where they faced a strong Ospreys team, and in the end, the sides shared the spoils 16-16, scoring one try apiece.
The result ensured that they remained the only South African side to remain unbeaten in the competition so far as they battled torrential rain as much as their Welsh opponents.
Dobson admitted that "Everybody wants to beat us and we haven't played in conditions like that in the tournament. Look, we'll be better for this and we could have won it with a bit of clever game management towards the end. I actually thought tonight was one of our better performances in the conditions."
Speaking on the conditions on-field Dobson said "We couldn't see the field from where we were. It was pretty hair-raising for those who've got hair!"
