Ireland Setting Records In Big Win Against Romania

 

Ireland began a second consecutive Rugby World Cup as the number one team, against Romania at Stade de Bordeaux on Saturday. Ireland as expected were clinical and dominant as they strolled to a record-setting twelve try 82-08 victory.

Romania stunned Ireland as well as the world when they opened the scoring with a well-worked try to lead 07-00 after just two minutes of play.

However, Ireland replied with tries by Jamison Gibson-Park, Hugo Keenan, Tadhg Beirne, Bundee Aki and Johnny Sexton to lead 33-08 at the halftime break.

Ireland continued to score tries at regular intervals. Tries were scored by Rob Herring, Peter O'Mahony (2), Johnny Sexton, Joe McCarthy, Bundee Aki and Tadhg Beirne in the second half.

Ireland's 75-08 victory is the most points scored as well as the biggest winning margin against Romania by Ireland.
