Injury-free Connacht Travelling Squad Named For URC Semi-final In Cape Town

 

A 29-man Connacht squad has left for Cape Town this morning for Saturday’s United Rugby Championship Semi-Final with the DHL Stormers after a sensational win over Ulster in Kingspan Stadium on Saturday.

Having previously gone 58 years without a win in Belfast, the coaching team led by Andy Friend guided the squad to their third victory at the ground in the span of 5 years, in a performance built on enormous physicality, rock-solid defence and relentless work at the breakdown.

The management team reported a clean bill of health from the weekend, with the travelling squad including all 23 players who featured in Belfast.

Also included are Connacht natives Eoin de Buitléar, Cathal Forde, Darragh Murray and Colm Reilly, as well as props Peter Dooley and Dominic Robertson-McCoy.
