In the first match in Round 3 of the 2021 Varsity Cup Competition, the unbeaten Ikeys will face UJ on the TUKS B field @ 14h00. Ikeys must be the overwhelming favourite to win this fixture with ease. Unfortunately, the UJ team seems set to be relegated to the shield at the end of 2022 if they do not make drastic changes.
The Ikeys made no change to their starting line-up that defeated Wits on Thursday with 40-22. In Round 1 the Ikeys ended the Maties' 25 games unbeaten run with 26-20.
UJ lost their games against CUT 46-13 in round one and although they showed more energy in their second-round match against TUKS they still lost 19-47. Only Boldwin Hansen, Prince Nkabinde and Eduan Smit survived the axe at the back while Siyabonga Masuku and Brendon Pawson are the new faces up front after UJ's lost against TUKS on Thursday.
