Fly-half Manie Libbok tallied 12 points as South Africa beat Argentina 22-21 on Saturday to finish runners-up in the Rugby Championship.
The 26-year-old underlined his quality on the international stage as he scored a crucial breakaway try with 12 minutes to go against Argentina. Libbok also kicked two conversions from three attempts and slotted an early penalty as the Springboks struggled to beat Argentina in their last Rugby Championship fixture.
During a post-match media briefing, Libbok was asked how it felt to score his first try in the Green and Gold.
“It was an excellent feeling, scoring my first try, it is moments like that one dreams of. “I needed to make sure I reach the tryline because they scrambled well on defence and after that, I just felt absolute joy”.
Williams added that despite the quality competition at scrumhalf making the Springboks' World Cup is his ultimate goal for 2023.
“My focus now is just to go out there and give my all every time I get an opportunity. I just have to put my best foot forward and if I do get picked for the World Cup, it will be a dream come true."
