The Blitzboks ended Pool B unbeaten following a great 20-19 win over France. The Blitzboks led 15-00 at the halftime break, however, France scored three tries of their own to lead 19-15. A brilliant hundred-meter try saved the day for the Blitzboks, securing the win with time already up.
The match was evenly balanced until Selvyn Davids was sent off with a yellow card with four minutes still to play. Following France also being yellow carded the Blitzboks started to punch holes in the French defence and scored three tries in quick succession during the last three minutes of play.
France started the second half with three tries in quick succession to take the lead 19-15. However, the Blitzboks attacked from their own half and Dyland Sage ended a hundred-meter try with several players handling to secure the win for the Blitzboks.
