HSBC SVNS – Blitzboks March Unbeaten Into Quarter Finals In Singapore

The Blitzboks scored a convincing 15-10 win over Samoa to qualify for the quarter-finals on Saturday.

Great defence from the Blitzboks kept Samoa from scoring, unfortunately, Samoa eventually found a hole in the defence to score the first points of the match after five minutes of play. The Blitzboks struck back immediately when Quewin Nortje showed his pace to outrun several defenders down the touchline to level the scores at 05-05, which was the halftime score.

Brilliant running by Selvyn Davids cut Samoa's defence in two and scored the Blitzboks' second try to lead 10-05. Two minutes later Shilton van Wyk scored another try for the Blitzboks to extend their lead to 15-05 and three minutes to play.

A highly debatable yellow card to Rosko Specman allowed Samoa to score a late try, however, the Blitzboks march unbeaten in to the quarter-finals to be played on Saturday

The Blitzboks will play France on Sunday at 08:24 (SA Time) before moving on to the play-offs.
