Grey 39 – 10 Glenwood

In a match that everyone expected Grey College to win in a similar fashion than Affies did a week ago against Glenwood, things did not work out exactly the same way. Grey College was missing their five SA School's players, Janco van Heyningen, Rikus Pretorius, Dian Schoonees, Rewan Kruger, & Jaco van Tonder, with Glenwood missing the powerful JJ vd Mescht also doing duties at the u19 International Series in Cape Town.
The first 15 minutes of the game saw a lot of errors by both sides.  Glenwood was doing exactly what they needed to taking the game to Grey. A tough and physical battle was the result with Glenwood slowing down Grey College's ball, keeping them from playing their natural running game. Grey College was to score the first try after a heal against the head in Glenwood's 25. Five minutes later it was Glenwood to score from a line out after continued effort. Kevin Smith went over and Martin Holtzhausen converted.  With Glenwood continuing to apply pressure Holthausen converted another penalty just before half time. Glenwood leading 10 - 8.
The second half saw Grey College scoring 31 unanswered points with 5 tries and three conversions. Grey College found their rhythm early in the second half and the first try was scored by Kevin Smith within 3 minutes of the restart. Grey settled into their stride and the visitors ultimately opened up a comfortable lead.
