Central Region always delivers exciting rugby with their teams are known for their exciting backs that can run any defensive system to pieces.
Some of the "top" matches in the region are listed below, however, all eyes will be on Bloemfontein when Gey College host Paarl Boishaai in the fourth week of the 2022 Premier Interschools season.
Grey College (102,956) vs Paarl Boishaai (101,540)
This has been one of the toughest and most exciting rivalries in South African schoolboy rugby in the last decade and promises to live up to the expectation. This has been one of the toughest and most talked about matches in recent times. Since the very first match in the fifties, a total of 46 matches have been played with Grey College having won 35, and Paarl Boys’ High claiming only nine victories while two matches ended in a draw.
Grey College is currently ranked number one in the country with Paarl Boishaai ranked third on the ruggas.co.za's rankings. A lot is expected from Sean Erasmus' boys as they are improving week after week and Erasmus is once again able to make the boys believe in themselves and play for each other.
Grey College has already shown their "worst" performances to the country and Boishaai can expect a few surprises from the home team. We expect a cracker of a game with Grey running from everywhere while I expect Boishaai to be a little bit more conservative and will concentrate on dominating territory.
Diamantveld (83,149) vs Noord Kaap (80,944)
The battle of Kimberley will also attract a lot of spectators when Diamantveld hosts Noord Kaap. Both teams' seasons thus far are below par with Diamantveld losing four from their eight games while Noord Kaap only won their first two matches of the season, losing their last five matches in a row.
Diamantveld must be the favourites on the day with their more structured game plan "always" the better plan if they can keep it all structured and disciplined.
Witteberg (72,576) vs Goudveld (77,702)
Goudveld is not having a great season compared to that of Witteberg and will need to up their game a lot if they do not want to lose their third game in a row.
Other Fixtures
Hentie Cilliers (53,681) vs Voortrekker Bethlehem (78,574)
Welkom Gim (83,928) vs Trio (67,150)
