In an emotional debut by LSEN schools at a "mainstream" rugby festival, Elandspark faced Goudwes in an entertaining match. Both teams show we those in the know love LSEN rugby and children.
After 10 minutes of exciting rugby, Elandspark scored the first try of the day to take the lead with 5-0. Elandspark at that stage was the dominant team with a pack of forwards which provided their backline with a lot of quality ball to attack with.
Goudwes had to make do with the little ball they could get and scored their first points after their eight-man forced his way over the white-wash.
A try each saw the teams going into half-time with Goudwes leading 12-10.
Halftime: Goudwes 12-10 Elandspark
Elandspark started the way they did in the first half to score their 3rd try after 7 minutes in the second half. A long-distance try by Elandspark gave them the lead back (15-12)
Elandspark scored their 4th try with 24 minutes left on the clock. Elandspark's physical dominance started at this stage to overwhelm Goudwes.
Goudwes showed that they do not know the meaning of giving up and after a period of pressure on Elandspark scored their third try (17-22).
A brilliant game if you watched this game with the right heart. Go LSEN.
