On Saturday the 27th May, Graeme College travelled to East London to take on Hudson Park High School. The day was evenly contested as Hudson Park won 5 matches, Graeme College won 4 matches and the first team result ended in a 12-12 draw.
The Graeme College 1stXV started the game superbly well as they dominated the first 20 minutes of proceedings. They were relentless as they held onto the ball for long periods of time and launched attack after attack – they were hard done by to have two tries disallowed during this period. Hudson then fought back well in the last 10 minutes of the half to score two runaway tries whilst Graeme missed two penalty kicks at goal. It was a game where Graeme seemed to dominate the first half even though they were down at half time and the 2 nd half was evenly matched. Graeme would’ve thought that they could have and probably should’ve won the match.
