DHL Stormers assistant coach Norman Laker had some good and not so good news regarding their extensive injury list during an online briefing on Monday.
The bad news was the injury to JD Schickerling was a long-term injury.
“JD Schickerling went off during the match against Leinster with a shoulder injury and will be out for a while.”
Manie Libbok's injury is not that bad according to Laker and is expected to be available for the match against the Vodacom Bulls on Saturday.
“Manie went off against Leinster but we gave him a few days off to get in his Bok resting period to try and recover, and I think he’ll be back tomorrow or so,”
“Losing Manie quite early in the game obviously was a big loss for the team. He is a general and a Springbok 10.
The DHL Stormers and supporters are all waiting for the return of Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Damian Willemse, Dan Du Plessis, and Jean-Luc De Plessis.
“Sacha is not back yet. Not certain how long he will be out for."
“Damien is about a month away from returning.”
“Dan is doing well. Not sure if Dan will be available this week he still has to pass a few medical tests."
“JL is not so great. I’m still waiting to hear from him. I think he injured his hand during the Champions Cup match against Racing 92, when we played them on the 4g pitch.”
