GoldCup Survive The Cutbacks At SARU

Little news that came from SARU the last few weeks had anything positive for the normal South Africans. However, according to sources, the Gold Cup will not become another victim of SARU's cutbacks as announced recently.

Even more exciting is that the Gold Cup will fall directly under Director of Rugby, Rassie Erasmus. He considers the club structures as a vital strategic high-performance pathway.

The Goldcup will be played in a new structure which at this stage is still not confirmed. Apparently, the proposed 128 teams countrywide were cut to 64 teams who will compete in a knock-out format. Details are expected to be released on Monday. A happy day for rugby in South Africa.
