The Glasgow Warriors lifted the 1872 Cup despite losing to Edinburgh Rugby 07-10 in the second leg. Glasgow Warriors winning by sixteen points over the two legs.
Neither team has really threatened to score during the first half. It's been incredibly physical, sometimes frantic passages of play, a lot of multi-phase attacks but neither with significant yardage gain.
The only points scored in the first half was a penalty converted by Ross Thompson for Edinburgh after twenty-two minutes of play in the first half to lead 03-00 going into the second half.
Glasgow took the lead with twelve minutes still to play when Edinburgh collapsed a maul off a lineout, and Paddy Harrison was shown a yellow card. Referee Eoghan Cross had no second thoughts to award Glasgow Warriors a penalty try.
Edinburgh struck back immediately when Pierre Schoeman put through a grubber kick which Matt Currie scrambled to get. Edinburgh had the advantage, but Ali Price found Schoeman who wrestled his way over the line. Ben Healy converted and Edinburgh led 10-07 with eleven minutes still to play.
The final ten minutes was an all-out war, however, Edinburgh hung on for a 10-07 win.
