Glasgow Warriors cruised to a 43-19 win over Leicester Tigers in their Round of 16 match of the 2025 Investec Champions Cup at Scotstoun Stadium.
Leicester Tigers didn’t let a sold-out Scotstoun Stadium discourage their ambitions as they pounced right from the get-go. It was Olly Cracknell who eventually rolled it home into touch following a tightly contested maul to send the first five points the visitors’ way.
Glasgow clearly took this to heart and soon got to work on a comeback.
Henco Venter was the first of the Warriors to go over before Sione Vailanu matched his efforts five minutes later.
It was this quick-fire double that seemingly knocked any wind out of the Leicester sails as Glasgow got comfortable in the attacking 22 for the most part.
Ruing missed first-half chances, Glasgow came out for the second period on the front foot. Adam Hastings made the most of an early penalty before Vailanu sealed his brace a minute later.
Recently back from injury, the Tongan collected a loose ball out the back of a ruck and made the metre that lay between him and the in-goal.
There was no sign of let-off for Tigers either, as flyer Adam Hastings finished off a great move down the right for his second cross in as many Glasgow outings.
George Horne was the next one to add his name to the scoresheet after ripping open the Tigers’ backline 10 minutes before Hanro Liebenberg got a consolation back for the visitors.
And just a consolation it was, with Henco Venter touching down five minutes later to put to bed any doubt that was left.
It was ultimately the reigning URC champions that proved much too strong for Leicester throughout the 80, and the Scottish side will play Leinster in the quarterfinal next weekend.
