Hoërskool Garsfontein has confirmed that mr Bart Schoeman was appointed as their new Head of Sport. This brilliant appointment is "just" another step in cementing Garsfontein's place as one of the top schools in South Africa. Schoeman will start on 01 October 2021 at Garsfontein.
Mr Leon Bantjies, head of Garsfontein confirmed the appointment and said Bart Schoeman was one of many top candidates who applied for the position. Schoeman, according to Mr Bantjies has the x-factor they were looking for and combined with his experience Bantjies is confident that Schoeman will play a vital role in taking Garsfontein's sport to even greater heights.
"His achievements that span over more than 30 years is impressive and combined with his extensive contacts at local and international sporting bodies and universities will create even more exciting opportunities for the learners at Garsfontein."
Bart Schoeman's long list of achievements includes coaching at Waterkloof High School, TUKS and the Lions Rugby Company. He was also the high-performance manager at the Lions Rugby Company. The current brilliant up and coming juniors at the Lions is acknowledged as the legacy of Bart Schoeman who spearheaded a drive to contract some of the best junior players in the country.
If there is anybody that can steer Garsfontein' sport to an even higher level of success, Bart Schoeman is definitely the right person.
