FNB UFS SHimlas Should Regain Crown Of Bloemfontein Against FNB CUT Ixias

The Battle of Bloemfontein should see a new king being crowned on Monday evening @ 17h00 when UFS Shimlas visits their neighbours CUT Ixias.

The Shimlas last won in 2018 (69-33) against CUT Ixias, however, they will be the favourites on Monday. Shimlas is currently unbeaten in the 2022 season while the Ixias are still looking for their first win.

The Ixias struggled with decision making on the attack against Wits and could just scare the high-riding Shimlas if they can rectify some decisions made a week ago.

Ixias head coach Braam van Straten only made two changes to his starting line-up that lost to Wits (18-20) in Johannesburg in Round 2.

The two changes were made at the back. Tsepo Malumane returns at the wing while Xavier Swarbooi will make his first appearance in the starting line-up at flyhalf.

Shimlas head coach, Andre Tredoux made limited changes to the starting line-up that blew Maties away (50-28) in Bloemfontein a week ago.

Both changes were made upfront. Reinier Viljoen replaces Nathan Jordan at the lock while Melusi Mthabela is promoted from the bench and replaces Johan Schutte at loosehead.
