FNB UCT Ikeys will host FNB Maties tonight @ 19:00 at the UCT Rugby Fields in a fight for the top position on the Varsity Cup log to secure a home semi-final and possible home final.
Maties currently lead the race with twenty-four log points, three log points ahead of the hosts. Maties had a close call against NWU Eagles (20-12) at home while the Ikeys came up against the Shimlas' (07-58) team that dominated early rounds in Bloemfontein.
UCT Ikeys made four changes to their starting line-up. The two changes at the back are Rethabile Louw who moves from wing to inside centre with Ntokozo Makhaze coming in at wing. Up front, Keagan Glade is the only returning face in the front row, Keagan Blanckenberg and Luthando Woji are promoted from the bench.
Maties made five changes with Mike Mavovana at wing and Thomas Bursey replacing Eduan Smit at scrumhalf the two changes at the back. Simon Miller, De Wet Marais and Gift Dlamini is the new loosie combination, while Vernon Matongo replaces Matimu Manganyi at tighthead.
