Emirates Lions Suffer Yet Another Long Term Injury Setback

Emirates Lions have confirmed that their Springbok lock Willem Alberts is ruled out for at least five months after sustaining a Grade 3 MCL injury in his left knee.

Alberts was injured in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship against the Vodacom Bulls last weekend and will require an operation to repair the tear.

The injury to Alberts follows long-term injuries to Pieter Janse van Vuren and Reinhardt Notnagel, which almost emptied the Lions stock of quality locks.
