Emirates Lions captain Marius Louw has confirmed that he will be leaving the Lions at the end of the season via a post on X by the Emirates Lions.
"Although I've decided to part ways with the Lions at the end of the 2024/25 season, my attention and intentions are fully with the franchise and I remain committed to contributing towards our season goals and ending my time here on a high," Louw said.
Director of rugby Alex Sanderson has bolstered Sale Sharks' midfield with the signing of Marius Louw on a two-year deal, with the seasoned midfielder set to arrive in Manchester at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
“It’s a big move, but I believe if you go in with the right mindset, you’ll make it work,” Louw said. “It feels like everything aligned perfectly.”
“I know their style. They’re strong in defence, get off the line quickly, and have a big pack,” Louw added. “I believe I’m entering my best years, and this is the perfect opportunity.”
“I’ve played with most of the South Africans there,” Louw said. “They’ve settled well, and that made the decision easier.”
