The first 1stXV game on the last day of the Noord/Suid Rugby Festival was between Noorheuwel and Durbanville. The conditions were very cold and extremely wet and muddy underfoot.
The first 20 minutes of the game ended with no score on the scoreboard. Noordheuwel's forwards dominated the early proceedings while the last 10 minutes belonged to the Durbanville backline players. Durbanville goes back home with two great wins.
25:25 Durbanville scored an easy first try of the game. Durbanville set up camp in Noordheuwel's red zone and great hands gave them great space out wide (5-0).
35:11 Durbanville scored their second try of the match against the run of play with time finished on the clock.
46:04 Durbanville has shown that they are extremely dangerous from turnover ball. Durbanville scored its 3rd try to stretch their lead to 19-0.
51:57 Durbanville's speed of play too much for Noordheuwel as Durbanville opened up a 24-0 lead after another try.
62:43 Noordheuwel finally put some points on the scoreboard after some great work to narrow the gap to (24-05).
66:15 Great handling again by Drbanvile with Brown who scored the try with nobody of Noordheuwel insight. (29-05)
68:15 Levandre Horne score his third try for Durbanville (36-05)
Noordheuwel were not able to contain the backline of Durbanville. The second half belonged to Durbanville, however, the final score not a true reflection of the game.
