DHL Western Province captain Nama Xaba says that his team is willing to push themselves to the limit as they look to get back to winning ways in their Carling Currie Cup clash with Tafel Lager Griquas in Kimberley.
Having lost their last Carling Currie Cup match against the Cell C Sharks in Durban two weeks ago, DHL Western Province has been working hard over the last fortnight to ensure they are at their best at Tafel Lager Park on Friday night.
Xaba said that after some introspection, there have been some hard work put in on the training field, as they look to lift themselves from the sixth position on the standings.
“The guys are disappointed with the way things went in Durban and will be looking to rectify that this week.
“We have identified where we went wrong, where we didn’t take our opportunities or had some lapses in concentration,” he said
Xaba is one of several players who have been involved with the DHL Stormers in recent weeks and he says that the way the two squads have been working together has made the transition from one to the other easy.
“There is a good synergy between the two squads, we are working well together. The systems are very similar, so it is easy to slot in and out,” he said.
The DHL Western Province skipper is expecting a physical onslaught from the Tafel Lager Griquas on Friday.
“We know that they pride themselves on their physicality, but we are just going to have to match it. That is something that we have definitely spoken about and are expecting.
“In our analysis we have seen they have a good maul, so that is something that we want to stop from the get-go,” he added.
