The DHL Stormers maintained their stronghold in second place on the Vodacom United Rugby Championship log as they registered a rewarding 46-19 victory against the Cell C Sharks on Saturday in their postponed Round one clash at Hollywoodbets Kings Park in Durban.
The victory saw them trail log-leaders, Leinster, by 11 points, and take a seven-point lead over third-placed Ulster, however, third-placed Ulster has one game in hand and a slip by the DHL Stormers could see them slip to third place on the log.
The Vodacom Bulls are currently placed 4th on the log with 40 log points, just 1 log point ahead of 5th placed Glasgow Warriors and could see a home quarter-final slip from their grasp as Glasgow Warriors have played one game less than the Vodacom Bulls.
The Cell C Sharks did not earn a bonus point from their clash in Durban against the DHL Stormers and are still placed 8th on the United Rugby Championship log. Although the Cell C Sharks have one game in hand and a win in that extra game in hand could see them jump to the 6th place on the log.
The Emirates Lions are placed 13th and although they have a game in hand a win could not improve their place on the log.
