“Destiny Is In Our Own Hands Now” – Jake White

The Vodacom Bulls Director of Rugby Bulls knows the team’s destiny is in their own hands in the Champions Cup.

The Vodacom Bulls are currently placed third in Pool A, needing only one log point to qualify for the Round of 16 playoffs. Their opponents on Saturday, Bordeaux-Begles, at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday are still unbeaten and have already qualified for the playoffs.

“Destiny is in our own hands now, we have Bordeaux at home and if we win that game we are probably in. It would be a great way for us to go into the next round,” White said.

“Away wins are a premium. If you look at the results today not many away sides got a win. To get an away win and to get a bonus point is something we’ll enjoy."

“We are still very young, we are still far away from where we want to be, but when you get results like that, and you get a performance like that as a collective, I’m sure it’s going to help us build for the next couple of years as well. I’m proud of the way the whole team jelled tonight,” White said.

An injury to Springbok loosehead Wilco Louw on Saturday must have White sweating, however, he was impressed with Khutha Mchunu's performance on Saturday and said he still has several other options.

“Khutha played really well if you consider he has just joined us this season and we have Mornay Smit still available. We also have one or two players coming back so we should have enough players available to cover the position.”
