All Blacks legend Dan Carter who made a surprising return to Super Rugby after answering an SOS from coach Leon McDonald, is set to take one step closer to a Blues debut this weekend with the flyhalf set to turn out for local club Southbridge.
Carter will represent his old club Southbridge in Canterbury, who he last represented in 2014 on Saturday after being released by the Blues. The Blues who are unbeaten has a bye this weekend after three wins in the opening rounds of the Aoroatea Super Rugby Series.
"Grassroots rugby and community clubs are what New Zealand rugby is all about," Carter said. We all need to do our bit in getting New Zealand communities back on their feet and we need to rally around and get innovative to raise funds."
