It was confirmed by a reliable source that Mr Willem Strauss, President of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union was approached by the Minister of Sport 'Nathi' Mthethwa to take over the reins at Cricket South Africa for the next five years.
Mr Strauss was elected as President of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union in March 2018 and his successes in turning the Union and the Vodacom Bulls around are well documented.
Our source said that the minister is excited to see what Mr Strauss can achieve at Cricket South Africa and promised the government's full support.
Apparently, Mr Strauss and Mr Mthetwa will make the announcement tomorrow at Loftus Versveld after the match between the Vodacom Bulls and the visiting Ulster.
