The organisers of the Noord/Suid Derby, Drostdy HTS has announced that the 2021 festival will no longer go ahead during the second week of the Easter holidays.
The uncertainty surrounding school sport is cited as one of the main reason for the cancellation of the festival and combined with the Department of Basic Education's failure to announce a formal academic calendar for 2021 made it almost impossible to plan. As one of South Africa's premier schoolboy rugby festivals, the organisers felt that due to the uncertainties it has become almost impossible to host a tournament that will be of the standard they set themselves.
